Enhanced Acute Febrile Illness surveillance in Fiji

Acute Febrile Illness (AFI) is a major cause of morbidity in Fiji, but rural surveillance system remain limited. Strengthening AFI monitoring is crucial to detecting endemic, high burden diseases like dengue, leptopsprirosis, and typhoid in Fiji.

Over 18 months, the study is implementing enhanced AFI surveillance in Fiji. Data includes clinical monitoring, laboratory diagnostics, and assessment of environmental and behavioural risk-factors.
