Fiji Co-design workshop on interventions to improve Vaccination for Children with Disability

Oct 22, 2025

The Infection, Immunisation, and Emergencies (IDIE) team at the Sydney School of Public Health recently held a co-design workshop in Suva, Fiji, focused on designing interventions to strengthen vaccination for children with disability.

Building on the findings from the first phase of the study, the workshop brought together members from disability organisations, health workers, UNICEF,  and DFAT. Through collaborative discussions, participants identified practical, culturally sensitive, and accessible solutions to close immunisation gaps for children with disability in the country.

These interventions and strategies include digital innovations like catch up calculator, tailored communication package, and community-driven advocacy to support more equitable services.

This initiative is being delivered in collaboration with Fiji National University, Frank Hilton Organization, Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services and Western Sydney University
